Student Academic Affairs Council (SAAC)

In addition to our internal network and supporting bodies, we also work closely with SAAC to ensure the EUC student body is entirely represented.

The Student Academic Affairs Council (SAAC) is a democratically elected student board representing student voices at EUC. The board serves as a point of contact between students and staff, providing students with a platform to raise academic suggestions, concerns, and feedback.
We regularly meet with staff to advocate for student interest and feedback. SAAC is also part of the Academic Rules and Regulations (ARR) Committee, which includes all Heads of Department and two SAAC members that represent students in the annual revisions of the Academic Rules & Regulations. Additionally, SAAC is part of the Program Committee (PC) at EUC, which meets monthly to discuss concerns and changes within EUC. Through the PC, SAAC can directly approve or veto matters relating to educational policy and the curriculum.
Furthermore, we organise academic events and initiatives to support students throughout their studies. These include study groups for first year students taking their ACC courses. Together with PDT, we also help students start their EUC journey and support students going into their second year by organizing a Study Plan Workshop.
Collaboration with EUCSA
To ensure that students are uplifted on both a social and academic level, EUCSA and SAAC collaborate on a range of projects.

The Assembly for Change & Transformation (ACT) provides an open floor for students and committees to raise issues and submit proposals to Management. In the past, major student initiatives have been brought to life through this collaboration. Committees such as Accessibility Co, FemCo and POC Co have brought forward proposals including the Personal Contact Statement and the Hate Speech Policy.

Last year, we also published EUC’s very own Housing Platform. The Housing Platform helps students entering their second or third year find apartments, while also providing a place for students to publish their apartment listings for rent or sublet.
